Hey guys, Jesse Razo here once again. This is another local marketing hack for you. I got actually 2 for I’m gonna do a long form version of this, and I’m also gonna do a short form version, for all of you that are just interested in the local marketing hack.
But if you want to see how we implement this on a regular basis with our clients, I’m gonna cut together one of our sales and marketing strategy calls on the end of this video, and talk with you a little bit about how this process comes up because we’re actually solving real world problems for our clients in the paintless dent and automotive hail repair industry. For this client that we’re working with, they’re having a challenge getting their media production and their media planning down so that they can execute better than the competition.
So what we did is we put together a written plan for them so that they can hand it off to their technicians and we’re also gonna be providing some training for them and their technicians about how to execute this plan more effectively than the competition.
Now the reality of it is we spent several hours on this and this is something that we’ve worked with our clients on in the past, but we haven’t given them a written copy of our media plan until this point.
So if you want a copy, leave a comment. I got the entire media plan here. We break up the importance of media planning and production and how media shapes people’s perception. What most people miss is the fact that we create the media.
So if you want to shape people’s perception about who you are in your local market, then you need to produce media around developing that persona. And then we also talk to them about or outline how they can build a media plan around the three pillars: the work that they do, the customers they serve, and educating their dream customers—how to go about attracting more high-paying customers that are more interested in the quality of your work than the price of your repairs. If you have all these customers and all this media out there attracting those types of customers, you’re gonna be swamped with work with high-paying jobs, doing less repairs for more money, because that’s the goal. We wanna make sure that we help you get there. I go through the entire plan.
In our media plan, we make it super simple so that you can utilize it and/or if you have technicians, you can utilize it for training. As a customer of our white glove service, a local marketing toolkit, of course, you get access to me and my team and we’ll be happy to train your technicians in regards to how to wrap their brain around creating media that’s gonna help promote your business. We believe that everything and everyone in the business should be committed to selling and marketing that business, or it’s actually betraying what it is that you want to do—which is grow your business so you can support your family and build the lifestyle of your dreams.
So, media plan, all the outlines and everything like that for training, and then we have a nice little checklist on the back here for the media plan.
That covers the important information that you should be collecting on every single repair: all the information for marketing purposes like name, address, cell phone, and email, before and after photos, before and after videos. We’re gonna take you through a little bit of a paradigm shift because what I’m seeing as far as a big gap in the marketplace is people are solely focused on the actual repair itself and they’re not demonstrating the value of the repair to the customer.
They’re actually not creating the content for their target market. They’re creating it for other people in the industry—meaning they’re showing off the work that they’ve done, their skills, what they’re up to. The majority of the people they engage with are other people or industry experts. We want to shift that focus—we want to shift the repair work that you do and focus it around the value that it is for your target market: savings, time, environmental value, and other types of value that paintless dent repair, collision repair, and/or your shop provides in regards to automotive hail repair. We want to spotlight those in the before and after pictures and videos so that you can create content that attracts your dream customers.
Then what we do with our process is we also outline an onboarding process that gives you the ability to set the expectation for a review early on. If you’re setting the expectation for a review, if you’re meeting or exceeding their expectation in regards to the repair and getting their buy-in, the likelihood that you do get a review is gonna be much higher.
So we address that and set that expectation really early in the process. Then we have an offboarding process where we gather the necessary information to promote your business or continue to promote your business.
It’s all covered here in our media plan. With a nice simple checklist. At the end of the onboarding process, we ask for the review and provide you with a script. The review script includes some questions about the repair and the important information that you need to gather to promote your business in your local market. We always follow a simple format for the review.
We want to know where they came from (the geographical area we’re targeting), the type of repair they got or the keywords we want to rank for, who they work for, and lastly whether they would recommend you—most importantly to friends and family.
So again, it’s all outlined in the media plan. I’ll either leave a link to download this in the description or, if you don’t see a link, just leave me a comment and I’ll make sure to forward it to you.
