01:59 – Add User & Authenticate Domain in KEAP.
Now, let me take you through the process. The first thing you’ll need to do is log into your KEAP application. And then, set up a user at the domain you want to authenticate. KEAP allows you to do this. So, I’ll go ahead and invite Robert to the application. Then, within KEAP, select the action tab at the top left-hand side of the page. From there, go to marketing, then settings, and finally, click on the quick launch to access email authentication. So, since we’ve already invited the user and added the domain to the application, we can now select the domain. And, we can select it from the dropdown menu. So, make sure to take note of or copy the provided records.
03:26 – Conclude with CNAME Record Creation for KEAP Authentication.
In our case, we use SiteGround as our underlying provider. So, I’ll log into SiteGround and navigate to the domains section and the DNS Zone editor. There, we’ll create a CNAME record. And then, copy the first value and set the record to one hour. Then, copy the second value. The KEAP application has given us these two values. And, we’ll enter these values into our DNS zone editor and create the record. So, keep in mind that it may take 24 to 48 hours for the record to propagate on the Internet. And, it depends on your host provider and DNS server location. However, if you’ve entered the values correctly, authentication will occur. As you can see, they’re already authenticated for us, which is a positive outcome. So, that’s the quick and easy way to create a DKIM record inside your KEAP application.
If you are a KEAP provider or a KEAP user and you’re looking to send emails from your personal domain. Then, here’s how you will do it. So, that’s all I have for you today. Hopefully, you’ve found some value in that.
Additionally, if you have any questions or comments, meet me in the comments box. And, I’ll get those handled for you. So, make today and every day a fantastic day! And, we’ll talk with you real soon.
Hello there! My name is Jesse, and I’m here to guide you through the process of setting up a DKIM record in your Keap account. Whether you’re a Keap provider or user, this is an essential step if you want to send emails from your personal domain. In this blog, I’ll explain what DKIM is, why it’s important, and provide you with a quick and easy way to set it up. So let’s get started!
What is DKIM?
DKIM stands for DomainKeys Identified Mail. It’s an email authentication method that allows the receiver to check if an email message comes from a legitimate source and if it hasn’t been altered during transit. By setting up a DKIM record, you can ensure that your email campaigns or bulk emails sent from your Keap application are authenticated and trusted by the recipients.
Why is DKIM Important?
DKIM is crucial for establishing your domain’s reputation and improving email deliverability. When your emails are properly authenticated with DKIM, they are less likely to be flagged as spam or phishing attempts. This means your recipients are more likely to receive your emails in their inbox instead of the dreaded spam folder.
Setting Up a DKIM Record in Keap
Now let’s walk through the process of setting up a DKIM record in your Keap account. Follow these steps:
- Login to your Keap account and navigate to the User Settings section.
- Invite the user associated with the domain you want to authenticate.
- Once the user is invited, go to the Action tab, located at the top left-hand side of the page.
- Click on Marketing, then Settings, and finally, Email Authentication.
- Add the domain you want to authenticate to your Keap application by selecting it from the dropdown menu.
- Make note or copy the provided DKIM records.
For example, if you use SiteGround as your hosting provider, you can follow these additional steps:
- Log into your SiteGround account and go to Domains > DNS Zone Editor.
- Create a CNAME record and paste the first value provided by Keap.
- Set the TTL (Time to Live) to one hour.
- Paste the second value provided by Keap.
- Save the changes and allow 24 to 48 hours for the DKIM record to propagate.
It’s important to enter the DKIM values correctly to ensure successful authentication. Once the DKIM record propagates, your emails will be authenticated and trusted by the recipients.
Conclusion
Congratulations! You have successfully set up a DKIM record in your Keap account. Now you can confidently send emails from your personal domain, knowing that they are authenticated and less likely to be marked as spam. Remember, DKIM is an essential step in establishing your domain’s reputation and improving email deliverability.
